I’m from NY & my family is super Italian, so Italian hero’s are taken very seriously & there are a plethora of solid Italian delis to get consistently good hero’s from in NY. Here in Delaware, not so much. So when I was introduced to F&L’s, to be honest, I was shocked at how legit they were.Their cold cuts are top notch, imported and sliced thin (as they always should be), and their mozz, to their sweet peppers, are literal perfection.”

The Culture Shop is our weekend happy place 🙂 We love walking or biking up here and enjoying sandwiches/beers on their little patio (our dog enjoys it too) and love their selection of wines, snacks and other provisions. The staff are wonderful here, and the space is so cute – just big enough but still feels like a little “hole in the wall” deli/bottle shop! I almost always get whatever sandwich they have on special (which they announce weekly on their Instagram) – they make practically everything in-house and you can tell they really care about using high-quality, fresh ingredients in their sandwiches, soups and sides. My husband is obsessed with their grilled cheese (with bacon, of course) – we think it’s the best one in CLT!

“Sweet Land Farm is an excellent stop for some goat fun! We had no idea this place was here, but it was surprisingly busy. Lots of families with younger kids were visiting. There are two sections of goats, one with adult goats and one with younger goats. The young goats are easier to pet as they can put their heads over the bars, but the adult goats are funny because they’ll fight over who gets to eat from your hand. Brown bags of hay are available for purchase for $6 from the gift shop. The hay bags look small but are really stuffed and seem to have a never ending supply of hay. In addition to the goat enclosures, there’s a gift shop with shirts, nice wood charcuterie boards, and lots of cheese and ice cream products.

These were the best sandwiches we’ve ever had. These guys have nailed it. We tried 4 different sandwiches and French onion soup, purchased two bottles of wine. They also have a large local cheese selection and gift shop. Seems like a family run operation. If I lived in the area, I’d eat here weekly I’m sure. The Hot Honey and Roast Beef were just wow. “This place is a slice of heaven. The staff is caring and extraordinarily intelligent and insightful when it comes to cheese. The shop itself is clean and trendy, yet warm and inviting. The samples of the cheese are the best part! Prices are comparable to the Beverly Whole Foods, my next favorite cheese destination, however the staff here are 10 times as knowledgeable and kind, and the selection is much better. I asked about a cheese similar to my favorite, Cyprus Grove’s Midnight Moon. They didn’t have it in stock, but the one that I wound up buying (also the first that was recommended to me) I think I like even more!”

We split the giant Sampler Plate, which came with an assortment of four cheeses (sharp cheddar, brie, brie brûlée and blue cheese), salami, prosciutto, honey, mustard, jam, cornichon, olives, baguette and crackers. All of the flavors blended so well together. We especially loved the brie brûlée!! All washed down with some sparkling rosé 🙂 To finish it all off, we enjoyed two vanilla soft serves dusted with matcha and topped with chocolate cowboy hats.

This is also my go-to place for meat/cheese/wine night. I will buy a couple different types of meat (prosciutto, coppa etc.) and get a couple different cheeses (goat, hard) and a baguette. The meats are very thinly sliced when you order them and the cheese selection is very diverse. The olives are also very good. Definitely the way to go if you are feeling an indulgent snack.”

“Stumbled upon Cultured while exploring Louisville with a group of friends and feel like we found a hidden gem! The shop is absolutely adorable – they have a cute outdoor patio area and the inside has a cute neon sign with a selfie stick and light at the ready! The staff were really friendly and helpful. We ended up making our own charcuterie board to take to go. I felt like the price was very reasonable for everything we got! The cheese and meats were delicious and we really enjoyed all the little accoutrements as well. Would definitely recommend this for lunch, happy hour, or even a cute date night!”

24. Oyama Sausage Company – Vancouver, BC

25 best cheese shops to pay homage to fromage (25)

Oyama Sausage Company takes pride in producing the finest quality charcuterie from uncompromisingly good ingredients and ethically raised meats. They offer a wide variety of cheeses, each carefully sourced and tasted.

Yelper, Ron R. says;
“Believe the hype! The line might be intimidating at first, but the sausages here were worth the wait! We arrived at the Granville Island Public Market on a Saturday evening around 4pm (closes at 6pm) to avoid the heavy morning crowds. The line here was still long but moved along fairly fast. It’s your typical butcher style meat stand with a variety of meats, cheeses, and cured meats. I asked for salami cuts of ‘finocchiona with fennel’ as well as the ‘fig and port’ salami. I asked for 100g each, in which I’d say they were about 30-40 slices depending. These cuts were not overly salty and had real good flavor! We did pair it with a smoked gouda and manchego hard cheese. Both cheeses were excellent tasting as well.”
