Chapter Text
Ms. Brown was swiftly notified of the entire fiasco and had the Pizzaplex closed for an "indefinite period." Vanessa slowly but surely recovered from her injuries as she laid in Roxy's spare bed. Dr. Reginald kept a close eye on her, making sure her stats were fine. Freddy remained in contact with Sheriff Clarence, who in turn remained in nearly constant contact with the "special organization."
Dr. Reginald inserted an IV into Vanessa's arm and ran fluids into her body to keep her hydrated.
Monty sat next to the bed, reading out of the Bible that the old lady he and many others simply called "grandma" had given him to Vanessa. He figured that she would hear his words and that it would probably help her heal (and also save her soul).
Daybreak eventually came, and Gregory woke up. He saw that everyone was in Roxy's room. He yawned as he stretched and rolled out of the bed. Roxy noticed him and walked over to give him a good morning hug.
"Morning little pup." Roxy said as she scooped Gregory up into a hug, giving him a soft motherly kiss on his forehead.
"Morning mom----I mean Roxy." Gregory said still a bit tired. Roxy giggled a bit before giving him another motherly smooch on his forehead. "I know you're wondering what's going on. Well, I'll give you the short version. Vanessa's back and...."
"Vanessa?!" Gregory said scared as her heard her name being said. He remembered the night that he got locked in the Pizzaplex. It was coming back to him like shell shock from Vietnam. The boy started to shake out of fear, already invisioning Vanessa, in her Vanny guise, coming at him with that long sharp knife of hers.*Are you having fun yet? Hehehehehehehe. There you are. You can't escape me now.*
"Chill little pup, she's not gonna hurt you." Roxy said trying to comfort Gregory.
"Why's she here?" Gregory asked, finally returning back to reality.
"It's a long story, and it's kinda complicated. She's got some really bad injuries, bad enough we can't move her to a hospital. She's staying here until she heals up." Roxy said back. "Trust us, if she tries to hurt you in any way, which more than likely won't happen, we'll protect you. Now, hurry up and get ready for school bud. I've some stuff in my mini fridge you can eat."
Vanessa started to murmur and then shifted her head a little. Her heart rate increased slightly and she slowly started to open her eyes. She turned them slowly to her right and noticed Monty sitting next to her. He noticed her looking and smiled at her.
"Y'all, she's awake." He said. "Ms. Vanessa, it's Monty. Can ya hear me?"
Vanessa slowly nodded her head.
Chica looked over and held up two of her fingers. "How many fingers am I holding up?"
Vanessa then softly said "two." She then looked around at her surroundings, realizing that she wasn't in her room at Gander Mountain Hospital anymore. Her eyes widened. "I'm not in Gander Mountain. Where am I?"
Freddy appeared out of the corner. "You're in the Pizzaplex. Roxanne's room to be exact."
Vanessa saw Gregory's in Roxy's arms. "Now's your chance Vanessa, tell him you're sorry." A voice in her head said to her.
"Gregory," Vanessa said before breathing in and out. "Come here a minute." She said.
Monty, fearing that Vanessa was about to turn on them, was about to reach for the stun gun that he knew Roxy kept under her bed. Freddy placed his hand on Monty's shoulder and stopped him. "She's not gonna hurt him Monty. Remember, the mask is no longer controlling her."
Vanessa then tried to push herself up, only for Chica to stop her. "Whoa Ness, you're kinda pushing yourself a bit too hard."
Vanessa gently pushed Chica's hand off of her. "It's alright. I can manage it." Vanessa pushed herself up and then sat up on the side of the bed. She then looked down at Gregory, staring at her, noticing that she only had on a sports top and shorts. Vanessa then quickly realized this and was about to ask somebody for a shirt or something, but before she could ask, Roxanne pulled out an old T-shirt from her closet and put it on her. Vanessa then stared back down at Gregory. "Gregory, buddy, I wanted to tell you............" She then paused.
"I'm sorry." She then said, only to feel Gregory crawl up on the bed and hug her. "I forgive you Vanessa." Gregory said to her, making tears form in her eyes. Vanessa wrapped her arms around Gregory, holding him close to her.
The moment was so emotional, it made everyone want to cry, even Monty, as tough as he was. Sun and Moon, who walked in about a minute later, we also moved to tears. (Moon poured tears like a water fall).
After Vanessa wiped her tears away, she looked over at the digital calendar on the way and noticed it was Tuesday morning. "You'd better get ready for school Gregory. You don't need to be late." She said to Gregory.
"Go on and get ready superstar." Freddy said.
