The NursingCAS Applicant Newsletter is a monthly newsletter intended to keep you informed about programs with available space, deadline extensions, and new programs added to NursingCAS. The newsletter will feature:

  • Open Seats: One of the benefits of NursingCAS is to provide notifications to applicants about programs that have available space. Review the listing below to determine if you would like to apply to one of these programs.
  • Deadline Extensions:Programs often extend their deadlines in order to allow applicants more time to complete the admissions process. Review the list below to see if any programs you are interested in have extended their deadline.
  • New Programs: New programs are added to NursingCAS on a continual basis. Discover and learn about new program offerings available to you by reviewing the listings below.

Applicants can also view the NursingCAS Events Calendar, where NursingCAS schools provide prospective students with information on events like upcoming webinars and information sessions throughout the application cycle.

Reminder: 2023-2024 Academic Update Window will open May 24

The 2023-2024 Spring/Summer Academic Update (AU) window will open on Friday, May 24:

  • 2023-2024 cycle: May 24, 2024 – August 23, 2024, 11:59 p.m. ET

Pleasereview and complete the three-step processto submit an AU request by the designated deadline above.

The AU allows applicants to update final grades for previously entered planned/in-progress coursework (i.e. Spring 2024) or enter newly-planned coursework (i.e. Fall 2024) since NursingCAS verification. Applicants are eligible for AU if at least one of their programs is in ‘Verified’ status by the AU request deadline. Application status can be viewed under the Check Status tab in NursingCAS. Upon submission of the AU request, NursingCAS will verify the applicant’s new grades, calculate an updated GPA, and send this information to their programs. While an AU is optional, some programs require this information for admissions consideration.

Students are encouraged to submit their request for new transcripts to their Registrar’s Office ASAP to allow plenty of processing/mailing time.

Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing

The Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing is now accepting Fall term applications for our full slate of graduate programs. All qualified applicants accepted by July 8 will have their $150 deposit fee waived.

The Goldfarb School of Nursing’s Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) program has been ranked #11 by the U.S. News & World Report as part of the “Best Grad Schools” 2024 rankings. California State University, East Bay

We are now accepting applications for the Fall 2024 semester through June 1, 2024. The CSU East Bay’s online/hybrid MSN program offers two practice concentrations:

  • Nursing Education
  • Nursing Leadership and Administration

The program offers a high-quality, accessible, online graduate education over four semesters as well as annual two-day campus immersion meetings that give critical support for student success. Graduates in Nursing Education will be well-equipped to work as educators in clinical or academic settings. Graduates in the Leadership & Administration Concentration will be prepared for mid-level management and leadership positions in a variety of healthcare settings. Davenport University

Seats remain available in Davenport University’s Fall 2024 Bachelors in Nursing Pre-Licensure (BSN-PL) program. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) fully prepares you for licensing exams and builds a solid foundation for your future in nursing. Applications are due June 7, 2024.

Florida International University’s (FIU) Graduate Nursing programs will be accepting new applications starting May 1, 2024 for the Post-BSN to DNP Part-Time program (with accelerated options) and the Post-Master’s DNP Online program.

FIU Nursing’s Generic BSNprogram is a five semester, full-time, upper level program comprised of didactic coursework and clinical practice enriched with simulation education activities in our S.T.A.R. Center and opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations. Students are admitted into the Generic BSN program twice a year in the Spring and Fall semesters. Two tracks are available for the MEPN program:

Regis College

Regis College is accepting applications to the full-timeDirect Entry Master’s in Nursingfor Non-Nurses program. The program starts in the Fall only, with clinicals starting that same semester.

We require seven prerequisites (Chemistry I and II, Anatomy & Physiology I and II, Microbiology, Statistics, and Human Development) which can be fulfilled through undergraduate coursework or after at other institutions. You may apply and be accepted without all prerequisites having been completed; however, all must be completed by the start of the program in September. University of Saint Francis

The University of Saint Francis hasopenseats for theDoctor of Nursing Practiceprogram.

Our mission is to educate future nurses who have been called to care. The university’s Franciscan values, in line with the Nursing Code of Ethics, center our curriculum with a focus on revering the unique dignity of each patient and serving others. We are one of the most respected nursing education programs in the region, building off 85 years of experience. On board certification exams, our graduates have a 100% pass rate. The curriculum is rigorous, but is built to be flexible for working nurses as a hybrid program, with some courses delivered in eight weeks and online. For clinical tracks, students will only arrive on campus for “intensives” twice per semester, while the rest of the time combines synchronous and asynchronous online learning.

Western Connecticut State University

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree is designed for advanced practice nurses who wish to seek a terminal degree in nursing practice that is not research- or education-focused. This program will prepare the DNP graduate in quantitative and qualitative research, evidence-based practice, foundations of policy and practice design, and in the implementation of practice initiatives that can advance translational healthcare practices and services to significantly impact the delivery of healthcare services within communities. The DNP focuses on understanding research and applying it to practice.

Students that would enroll in this program include advanced practice registered nurses who have completed their studies within a practice domain and wish to obtain a practice doctorate specific to their field of study. This may include population foci in adult/gerontology, family, acute, and psychiatric nursing practice. Entry into the program may include APRNs that have recently graduated or have been in practice for many years.
