Why this job matters:

Manage workflow for Medicare sales across channels; implement corporate or departmental policies, procedures, and service standards to ensure compliance with regulations and consistency across teams. Assess training needs, develop and facilitate training. Supervise the daily work of overflow and less experienced sales staff to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures. Provide reporting on performance of telephone sales lines and other key sales metrics. Provide real-time support to all telephone sales staff. Staff phone lines during peaks seasons and to cover schedule gaps. Retain, generate, and increase Medicare sales by receiving all inbound telephone call and making outbound calls as scheduled. Ensure compliance in all aspects of sales activities.

What you will do:

  • Represent Medicare Sales team in organizational priorities, PMO activities and service enhancements.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Medicare Sales to oversee service experiences, create and deploy CRM enhancements, and participate in UAT testing and requirement sessions.
  • Coordinate the workflow and daily operations of the Medicare team and service department. Provide direction and guidance to agents across channels.
  • Develop and deliver all reporting based on projects and events. Identify successes, improvement opportunities, and risks.
  • Handle all second level escalations on complex customer and research issues.
  • Assess Medicare sales training and procedure needs; develop training methods and curriculum and provide recommendations for program development and improvement.
  • Develop Medicare sales communication, training materials, and script materials. Ensure training and policy/procedure documentation is accurate, current, and distributed in a timely manner.
  • Handle inbound and outbound phone calls to increase and retain membership of all individual products. Respond to leads coming into the department. Identify and qualify leads for eligibility and direct callers to the appropriate sales process to facilitate enrollment to meet monthly enrollment goals.
  • Fully support and participate on work teams, committees, and key marketing activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you need to succeed:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Current certification to sell health insurance in Rhode Island or the ability to obtain a license by 10/1.
  • Two to four years of related experience including marketing and sales required, in customer service research environment.
  • Experience in the health insurance industry
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of products, i.e., Word, Excel, PPT, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of marketing or sales operations
  • Basic knowledge of sales support processing operations
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, and Word
  • General computer proficiency
  • Written and verbal communications skills
  • Good organization skills
  • Time management skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to research and organize data
  • Ability to organize work efficiently to meet established time and quality standards
  • Knowledge of health insurance operations
  • Working knowledge of claims processing systems

Preference will be given to those applicants who have experience selling Medicare, leading a team, and contributing to business process improvement and/or training.
