A recent megapack of Red Dead Redemption 2 mods adds several iconic locations in Mexico from the first game like Chuparosa and Escalera.

Each type of arrow has its own purpose in the game and can greatly impact the quality of pelts and carcasses players pick up after a successful hunt. In all, there are five total alterations for arrows, including RDR2's small game arrows, improved arrows, poison arrows, fire arrows, and the incredible dynamite arrows in Red Dead Redemption 2. For those players on the lookout for small game arrows and looking to understand how to craft them, this guide is here to help.

How To Make Small Game Arrows in RDR2

Fortunately, players don't need to find and learn a recipe to craft small game arrows in RDR2, all they need to do is acquire the right materials. This is a shortlist and just requires a single flight feather, a regular arrow, and a single shotgun shell. Flight feathers can be gathered from any of the flying birds in the game world. This is quite the list, but some examples include Ducks, Pheasants, Ravens, Vultures and even the elusive Owl in Red Dead Redemption 2. Players just need to take down these animals for a chance to pick up flight feathers.

Arrows, as well as shotgun shells, can be purchased from Gunsmiths or General Stores from their catalogs. Arrows cost players 50 cents per bundle of five, while a box of 18 shotgun shells can be purchased for a dollar. One of each ingredient is enough to craft a small game arrow in the crafting menu.

Crafting in Red Dead Redemption 2 requires players to open up their crafting menu and select either the Crafting Tools or the Campsite option. Firstly, players can't be at one of the Van der Linde gang's hideouts or in any of the towns in Red Dead Redemption 2 to access this feature and need to head towards the wilderness. The player will then have to move to the ammo section of the crafting menu and scroll down to the option labeled arrow - small game.

Small game arrows in RDR2 are useful for hunting the smallest animals in the game world. This list of animals includes Bullfrogs, Chipmunks, Snakes, Squirrels, Rats, Toads, as well as a number of small birds and even the Bats of Red Dead Redemption 2. Any player looking to get a perfect example of these animals has to equip and use small game arrows in order to do so.

The perfect skins and carcasses of these animals are requirements for certain Trapper-exclusive clothing items in Red Dead Redemption 2, such as the Legendary Alligator Gambler's Hat and Javelina Half Chaps, which require perfect snake skins. On top of this, the better condition an animal is in, the more money players can make selling it. And so those looking to sell any of these small creatures should always go with the small game arrows.
