- Memeland is a collection of 9,999 utility-enabled PFPs;
- They ran a blind auction for “YOU THE REAL MVP” to let their community set the price. The final price goes to 5.3 ETH, and now FP sits at 32 ETH;
- “The Potatoz” is a collection of 9,999 utility-enabled PFPs launched on Jul. 21. Each Potatoz is your entry ticket into the great Memeland ecosystem.
- The Potatoz completing more than 9,700 ETH ($16 million) worth of secondary marketplace transactions up to now. The floor price for The Potatoz is currently 1.45 ETH.
- Founded in 2008, 9GAG behind Memeland NFT has a global audience of 200 million, across its website, apps, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter;
- Players can earn $MEME through passively holding and staking, or actively playing and creating content;
- Famous celebrities like @kevinrose and @garyvee are all involved in this project;
- Memeland NFT has a lot of the same similarities with Moonbirds, Invisible Friends, CloneX, Doodles, the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), and some of the other successful ones.
The picture above shows what the Memelands are like. Elements like a broken sea, pirate crews, treasure island, sea monster, and of course…memes are all showing in the form of really cool pixels.
There must be a very wonderful story about quests for glory, fortune, and love happening in these Memelands.
Wtf is that? Another Metaverse game? The Otherdeed for Otherside finally met their match? Memes packed with utility? The next BLUE CHIP NFT? Are they gonna be the next 100x NFTs project?

Memeland is a collection of 9,999 utility-enabled PFPs. Unlike lonely NFTs which can only be held in your wallet, Memeland is going to give you value and each Memeland PFP (aka Captain) unlocks utilities like:
- Private club membership
- Exclusive access to the creator NFT marketplace
- IRL (In Real Life) events
- Upcoming 9GAG drops and projects
- And more
How are the 9,999 Memeland PFPs distributed?
They can be very flexible.
There are many moving parts, but here’s their current plan (subject to change):
- 6,900: 9GAG & partners allowlist winners
- 3,000: Public allowlist raffle winners
- 99: Memeland Treasury for future collaborations, hiring, marketing, etc
And to celebrate its launch, 9GAG is partnering with Hong Kong Times Square to bring the world’s first “Memeland” digital playground and its NFT collection to life, from 30 July to 25 September, 2022.
Besides that, holders of Memeland PFPs have full commercial art rights for the Memeland PFPs they own.
Memeland will receive 6.9% of all secondary sales. The proceeds will be used to buy lambos, yachts, and private jets for the team… 🚗 ⛵️ ✈️
Jokes aside, they will use the fund to hire more full-time team members, fund operations, and deliver even more value to their community!
While it gives no ground for blame even if they are buying a pleasure boat.
And now, they surprisingly provide you with “YOU THE REAL MVP” as a reward.
According to their recent tweet, YOU THE REAL MVP is an extra way of thanking and rewarding their passionate community and team. You can even call it VIP.

If you are a holder of “YOU THE REAL MVP”, you have an allowlist for all future Memeland & 9GAG projects, including 3 free mint spots for “THE POTATOZ”(airdropped).
That’s not to say that you can get the Memelist automatically when you hold the Potatoz. It’s worth repeating: the ONLY way to get Memelist going forward is via The Potatoz’s “stake-to-win”.
In my point of view, the project’s like one of those Russian dolls.
So, Wtf is the Potatoz?
Well, the potato is a starchy tuber of the plant Solanum tuberosum and is a root vegetable native to the Americas. The plant is a perennial in the nightshade family Solanaceae.
No, just kidding.
A long time ago in a memetaverse far, far away… Memeland was a deserted land unsuitable for life. Until years ago, early lifeforms started to appear. Memeland’s first residents, it turns out, were a bunch of Potatoz. Who left the Potatoz there?
In a sense, Potatoz to Memeland is equivalent to Koda to Otherdeed for Otherside.
Ahh…ok, that’s a little weird. Whatever…
In a word, “THE POTATOZ” is a collection of 9,999 utility-enabled PFPs. Each Potatoz is your entry ticket into the great Memeland ecosystem.
After you bought the Potatoz, you can enter the “stake-to-win” mechanism. They even hosted a naming contest for the mechanism. The winner will get a Potatoz. And eventually named as “GROW-TO-WIN”.
When reveal?
It depends on what you mean by a reveal. Potatoz grows, don’t they?
They launched the “GROW-TO-WIN” (staking) system and staking website on Aug 6, 2022:
The moment you “GROW” (stake), your Potatoz will evolve to Stage 1 instantly!
The “Growing” function is staking, similar to Moonbirds, another popular NFT project created by PROOF Collective and Kevin Rose, “Nesting” feature.
They make for a great side dish, but some may feel a calling to become the main course. Rumour has it they are secretly related to the Memelist, $MEME, MVP, and more!
I got nothing but imagination from their introduction. And it fits exactly with their wishes. Moreover, creator earnings has also increased to 9%.
You know, I think this is really clever from them because they knew that it was not ideal to launch their main projects in such a bear market, so they give you this drop.
Even though the YOU THE REAL MVP is at the current floor price of 32 ETH but was mainly the nominal price. All the value lies in people’s expectations of Memeland and its brand and community. And holders found it cannot easily be changed into cash so many of the activities were sold in the form of offers. Its liquidity is very poor.
In my opinion, the emergence of Potatoz NFT can solve the liquidity problems and give MVP’s holders more confidence and more imagination of Memeland.
You may have heard of them. If you haven’t heard of them, you must have seen their memes. They are the meme lords of the internet generating memes in the past every single day.

And Memeland will be 9GAG’s first NFT collection…
With a 14-year track record in community building and social media, the Web2 success is going to be their testimonial for Web3.

$MEME sits at the core of everything in the Memeland metaverse.
I think it is actually interesting because if they are rewarding people for creating content, that’s how you grow your user base. Even if they have a very large user base already, LOL…
$MEME is a token made to support the creator economy. $MEME also serves as Memeland’s governance token.

Why is that？
They said that there is no road at sea, so there is no roadmap.

Well, then at least, you could have a sea roadmap…
But they do have the North Star — their mission.

As with all things 9GAG, they like to under-promise and over-deliver. Their 14-year track record in community building and social media is their testimonial. They always keep shipping.
Wow! We see a lot of big names in the NFT & crypto world that are involved in this project.
I’ve never seen so many advisors/investors at the same time before. They’ve got so many big players in the space. They’ve got people across the board who have done major projects themselves.
Yes, it’s all. Famous celebrities like @kevinrose and @garyvee are all there.
Recently, they also announced Hong Kong tycoon Adrian Cheng joined Memeland as an advisor!
Because they have backers of 9GAG and investors in it, so they probably will put in a good word for Memeland NFT.
Under such a strong background, it’s hard not to believe this is going to be a big bluechip NFT project in the near future.
I think even in such a bear market, Memeland NFT is going to perform extremely well and we could easily see 10x proceeds.
If you compare Memeland NFT to Moonbirds, Invisible Friends, CloneX, Doodles, and the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), and some of the other successful ones, you will find that they have a lot of the same similarities.
Why do I say that？
- They always have a company behind it.
- They have a token system
- They have metaverse land
- Famous celebrities are involved in their projects
- They are well-experienced in Web2
- They are trying to build an ecosystem in the NFTs space
- They are committed to driving a lot of value and utility to those people who are holding their NFTs
- At the same time, you could always find an easy way to jointly hold together in their community, whether it’s their typical language, words, gestures, memes, consensus and more.
